What is Common Grounds?
In the summer of 2023 An Antisemitic hate group targeted the Chabad of East Cobb and the Synagogue of Macon Georgia. Rev. Kristin Lee of East Cobb United Methodist Church quickly organized her congregation to show solidarity with their Jewish neighbors. That August, Rev. Lee gave the convocation at the Zachor Shoah 1st annual Holocaust Education Symposium in Marietta Georgia. Together, Carolina Simon and Rev. Lee forged an interfaith friendship and together created the interfaith initiative between Zachor Shoah and the East Cobb United Methodist Church - Common Grounds: a coffee and conversation club.
Once a month we meet at the East Cobb United Methodist Church and discuss a variety of topics regarding Holocaust history, Jewish culture, Human Rights, and more over coffee and sweets.
